New Troop Hats
At the December 18th Patrol Leaders Council meeting the youth voted to change our traditional Troop Hat. Effective Tuesday, March 5, 2013 we will no longer be using the red berets as our official Troop Hat. The new hat is based on the current optional red ball cap. The front design will have our traditional troop logo (Babe, the blue ox), on the back will be the logo for the BSA program the Scout is in (the Boy Scout Fleur-de-lis, or the Venture Diamond). Our New Scouts and Boy Scouts will wear a Red ball cap; Venturing Scouts will continue to wear Black. Scouts who own a current red or black ball caps are able to continue to wear those hats and are not required to purchase anything new.
The regular cost of the hats are $12.00 however, a onetime order of the hats will be made at a cost of $6.00 for all current members of the troop (with the balance being charged to the troop general funds). Special with this order the Scouts will be able to personalize their hats with their name on the back. We will take orders for the new hat starting now on-line through January 22, 2013. You will also be able to fill out a form at the troop meetings but the sale ends at the International Dinner on January 22. The hats will then come in and most likely be distributed at the meeting on February 26. After the order the hats will be available through our troop store for $12.00 each (and the troop will no longer embroider your name on them.
