Hanging With Friends In Venturing Crew 179

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

In 179 our Venturing Crew meets at the same time as our Scouts BSA Troops and brings to our High School aged youth the benefits of being a member of the Boy Scouts of America with plenty of leadership opportunities and continuing advancement on the Eagle Scout Rank. Using the Venturing tradition many of our Venturers provide instruction to the Scouts BSA Troops to teach them the basics of outdoor life. We also join in most of the Scout BSA Troop's activities to plan and lead their programs.

Social life is an important aspects and hanging with friends is a favorite activity of all our Venturers and why not hang with friends at some of the most exciting places around. Our Venturing Crew plans trips annually to great places for adventure. Hiking the Rocky Mountains at Philmont Scout Ranch, scuba diving or sailing the seas at the Florida Sea Base, surviving a week on a deserted island, white water rafting, climbing, rapelling, and caving are a few of the trips we've planed and gone on (see them all here).

We meet most Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Come visit us at any meeting to learn more about the adventures 179 is going on and how you can be a part of them. Check our calendar for exact meeting dates.
